Our quality guarantee

What the name labels can handle, what you need to do, and what happens if they still don't stay on.

We sell name labels that are meant to stay put. This page says plainly what they withstand, how to apply them so they last, where the limits are, and what we do if they don't work as they should. No sweeping promises: only what we can actually stand behind.

What the guarantee covers

If you are not happy with your name labels, you get your money back. That applies both if something is wrong with the labels when they arrive and if they do not last as they should in normal use, following the instructions on this page.

  • What you get: A replacement set free of charge, or a full refund if a replacement does not solve the problem. If you would rather have your money back straight away, just say so when you get in touch.
  • How long the guarantee lasts: 60 days from the delivery date.
  • What you need to show: Describe the problem and tell us when you ordered. If the labels are faulty, feel free to attach a photo. There are no formal requirements beyond that.
  • What is not covered: Use outside the instructions: washing above 60°C, labels applied straight onto fabric instead of the care label, washing before the adhesive has cured for 24 hours, and the materials listed under Where the limits are (silicone, highly stretchy materials, socks).

What the name labels withstand

Here is the specification, without any spin.

  • Washing machine: up to 60°C.
  • Tumble dryer: yes.
  • Dishwasher: yes, up to 60°C.
  • Iron: not needed. The labels are self-adhesive.
  • Sticks to: fabric via the care label, plastic, metal, glass and leather.
  • Printing: printed in the EU.

How to make the labels last

Almost every label that comes off was in the wrong place from the start. Four steps are enough.

  1. Apply to the care label, not the fabric. Straight on fabric the surface moves when the garment is washed, and the label lets go. On the sewn-in care label it stays put.
  2. Make sure the surface is clean and dry. Dust, grease and moisture are the most common cause of poor adhesion.
  3. Press firmly, especially on the corners. The corners are the label's weakest point. Press for a few seconds across the whole surface.
  4. Wait 24 hours before the first wash. The adhesive needs about 24 hours to cure fully.

If you do this and the label still comes off in normal use, get in touch. That is exactly what the guarantee is for.

Where the limits are

There are situations where self-adhesive name labels are not the right product. We would rather say so here than after you have bought.

  • Washing above 60°C. Workwear and care uniforms that go through industrial laundry at 90 to 95 degrees are outside what the labels are made for. An iron-on label suits that better. We only sell self-adhesive name labels.
  • Garments without a care label. If the garment has no sewn-in label, there is no good surface to stick to. Fully knitted or home-sewn garments without a care label are the clearest example, and there an iron-on label is the safer choice.
  • Mittens and knitwear. On the outside of factory-knitted mittens the labels do work, and many preschools ask for exactly that so they can see whose mitten it is straight away. The bond is not as strong as on a care label, though, so expect them to last a shorter time there.
  • Silicone and highly stretchy materials. The surface gives way and the label lifts at the edges.
  • Socks. Small surface, a lot of friction and rarely a care label to stick to.

What the guarantee is based on

Our guarantee is a promise, not a test report. We have not published any laboratory test of the labels. What we do have is the specification above, thousands of customers who have labelled their children's clothes with them, and a 4.9 out of 5 rating from 43 reviews, where several customers report that labels from last year are still on. If the labels don't last for you, you get your money back. It really is that simple.

Safety and materials

The name labels are printed in the EU and we meet the safety requirements that apply to the product by law. We do not have EN 71-3 certification, which is a toy safety standard and not a requirement for this product. If we obtain that certification, we will write it here, not before.

What to do if something isn't right

Get in touch and we will sort it out. Describe what happened and when you bought the labels, and we will come back to you. We normally reply within one working day. Contact us.
